We welcome back all our staff this week as KFCS hosted its district in-service and an all-staff gathering today at Pel Court.
Staff who have been with the school district for five years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and 25 years were all recognized with a certificate for being with KFCS for so long.
General Robert Van Antwerp from Capturing Kids' Hearts was the day’s keynote speaker. Van Antwerp spoke an encouraging message from his experience’s in the Army after 39 years of service.
“My fourth-grade teacher will always impact me. She used words such as ‘we are going to get through this’ and encouraged me to grow as a student. During one of my presentation’s at West Point, she was in the front row seeing me recognized,” Van Antwerp said. “You, as a teacher, you are influencing your students. Do not look at it as ‘I have to’ but see it as something you have the pleasure of doing.”
Each staff member was given a goodie bag and many earned prizes such as lawn chairs, coffee mugs and bags. Staff were then welcomed to a catered luncheon by KFCS food service provider, Walker Quality Services.
