Any questions concerning school bus transportation please call the KFCS Transportation Department at 541-883-4716.
All students K–5 that live more than 1 mile from their elementary school are eligible for a bus to and from their home school area, within the district boundaries. All students 6-12 that live more than 1.5 miles from their school are eligible for a bus to and from their home school area, within the district boundaries.
Miles from school will be determined by the transportation supervisor in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 581-023-0040 (1)(c).
2021-22 Student Bus Information
The transportation department will communicate bus stop information using the Versatrans e-Link system. This secure link allows parents/guardians to view essential school bus information such as what time the bus should arrive, and other pick up and drop off information.
Please remember that parents are responsible for their children until they board and after they exit the bus. We are unable to make bus stop changes to relieve parents of that responsibility. This means, unfortunately, that we cannot grant requests simply to allow the parent to monitor the bus stop from their home.
During the first week of school, we ask you to please be patient with the transportation department as we work hard to get your child to and from school safely. In the afternoon, the buses will be running late for the first few days due to students learning where their bus is parked and driver's checking attendance to make sure they have the correct students on board.
If your child qualifies for bus service, please fill out the KFCS TRANSPORTATION FORM.

Student Conduct at the Bus Stop While at the bus stop:
Students who are riding the school bus are under the authority of the bus driver. In order to have a safe ride to and from school, it is most important that each student cooperate with the bus driver and practice safe bus riding habits at all times. Please note the following rules. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive.
Students are expected to be at their bus stop at least five minutes before the assigned arrival time of their bus. Drivers are not required to wait for students who are not at their bus stop on time - this makes each stop after that late. Waiting in a vehicle is prohibited regardless of inclement weather.
All students in the a.m. must wait at their Point of Safety location as assigned by the driver. In the p.m. they must return to their Point of Safety and wait until the bus drives away before going home.
- Students who are required to cross the street should do so at least ten feet (10 giant steps) in front of the school bus and after the driver has signaled the student that it is safe to do so. The driver will use a hand signal for right or left side (pick up and drop off) to indicate when your child should check in both directions to make sure it is safe, clear to traffic or pedestrians, and can proceed to or discharge from the bus.
- Parents, caregivers, or siblings of kindergarten students (3rd grade or older) shall be at the bus stop making sure they wait in a safe and orderly manner.
We give an estimated drop off time due to the fact that we cannot guarantee how many children will be riding the bus home each day and current traffic conditions. If you have any questions or if you find this information to be incorrect please don't hesitate to call our office at (541) 883-4716.
