Elementary

Welcome to Pelican Elementary School, home of the Proud Pelican Pirates! We are a K-5 school with eleven classrooms dedicated to creating strong relationships with 250 students and their families. We are located near Klamath Lake in an area of Klamath Falls formerly known as Pelican City. Built in 1921, Pelican Elementary has a long tradition of teaching children the value of academic excellence, good character, and community service.

avid school wide logoPelican is in its 5th year AVID and is an AVID Elementary Showcase School.  AVID promotes college and career readiness by promoting a growth mindset and using research-based, best practice instructional strategies to help students learn.  Pelican promotes technology through the use of student Chromebooks, iPads, a classroom computer lab and interactive Promethean whiteboards.  Pelican uses Benchmark Advanced for ELA and Bridges Math for core curriculum.  In Oregon, we teach the Common Core State Standards.

 

blue zone projectPelican is a Blue Zones Project Approved School, striving to promote healthier living through the motto, "Eat Better, Move More". A variety of physical fitness programs are held before, during, and after the school day: including walk to school days, recess/P.E., activity-a-thon fundraiser, health and nutrition education.

Pelican Boosters support total school success through active parent participation in and out of the classrooms. Parents and volunteers are encouraged to get involved at Pelican Elementary!
