We are committed to student success and improvement. Students, teachers and parents place high standards on academic excellence. We continue to focus on the areas of reading, math and writing. Students in need of additional assistance receive interventions in the area of reading and math. We strive to improve the climate of the school by improving attendance and recognizing positive student accomplishments.
The Oregon Legislature approved additional state funding for K-12 education in their last legislative session. The funds may be used for programs and improvements in the following areas: Creating a well-rounded education for students, providing behavioral supports for schools, reducing class sizes, and/or providing more learning time. KU soon will have 50 new Chromebooks with free data access available for check-out in the media center. The laptops remove economic barriers so that all students have the opportunity to conduct research, access educational resources and complete assignments at school and at home.
